"They are? Well, we can wait for when they leave, what do you think? And....I know you probably think I'll rat out on you to Foxcloud, but I'd never do such a thing! I wouldn't wish Foxcloud on anycat. To be honest, I'm not her favorite cat. I think she'd quickly make crowfood out of me without any regret. Well, what do you think? If it makes you nervous, I'll go only as far as you wish, and then leave." She meowed, offering a compromise. "Is that okay?"

Hiddenpaw smiled slightly. "You're a lot like Lilypaw, you know?" She twitched her ears slightly and stared off in the direction of the High Hills. "Fine, so long as Foxcloud hears nothing."

Starpaw shuddered. "I'd rather die, even at Foxcloud's claws, than to give her any secrets. She's a powerhungry bloodthirsty....and that's not even enough to fully describe her. Lilypaw? Who's that? one of your friends?" She meowed, curiously, starting forward while giving Hiddenpaw an interested look.

Hiddenpaw nodded. "The first to ever understand, the first to ever truly be nice. Lilypaw is probably the strangest and best cat you could ever know." She rose and shook dirt off her silver pelt. "They'll be leaving at moon-high I believe."

"She sounds like a cat I'd like to meet." Starpaw purred. She looked up at the sky. "Moon high you say? Shouldn't be too long then." She gestured towards the sky with her tail, her golden markings flashing gently in the moonlight. "Will it be okay if they see me, or should I hide?" She meowed suddenly apprehensive. "After all, I'm a Fireclan cat, and after what they did to the two rogue kits and you know...."

Hiddenpaw flicked her tail. "Their grudge is with Foxcloud, not FireClan as a whole." She stared up at the sky, wondering if it was smart to go into the High Hills. It hadn't ended well last time, she and Lilypaw had left with Sunset and Skywalker in a heated argument. But her father knew now, history couldn't repeat itself.

"I guess you're right." She meowed, still a little nervous. "Anyways, we'd better get a move on. We might miss them if we dawdle, and that wouldn't be good. "So...do you like any of your family members a little bit?" She asked, her tail curling as she leapt over a small rock. Starpaw liked the smell of the forest, it was so warm, and earthy, and inviting. So different than the normal acrid singed smelling trees on Fireclan territory. She found herself finally relaxing, the first time in a long while.

Hiddenpaw shrugged. "My brother seems all right, at least the one I've met does. He smiles a lot and seems excited all the time. Strange to think that he is the eldest." She leaped over a large boulder expertly, threading through the trees, her fur flashing in the dim light. "I will have to warn you, the entire band is not my family, though everyone acts like family I've heard. There's this one she-cat that's very aggressive, the she-kit is hers. I'd steer clear of her if I were you."

"Thanks for the warning, I will, no worries there." She meowed. "I wonder what Foxcloud's on that made her take kits from your family's group. "I kept hearing the she kit yowling about her mother coming to attack us all.. Is she as aggressive as you make it sound?"

Hiddenpaw shrugged. "I don't think so, she is probably is very nice once you get to know her. But I looked at her funny and she unsheathed her claws." She thought. "Sunset called her Bird, and the little kit Mint. That sound right?"

"Yeah, that's the kit's name, Mint. And yeah, from what Mint kept yowling, we were all going to be crowfood once Bird found us." Starpaw shook her head. "It took several cats, and even a couple of Foxcloud scares to keep her and the other quiet. What really? She got ready to attack because of a look? ookaaay, remind me not to give her a reason to attack, though the fact that I'm fireclan might be enough for her." She shrugged. "I've never met rogues before. And they're in a band? Do they have a system similar to the clans? So.. are they like a sixth clan or something?"

Hiddenpaw shrugged. "Both my mom's parents were Clan cats, and she is the leader, so something like that." She raised her tail slightly as a crash was heard in the woods. "Trees are falling down faster every day. Treestar says its because we sharpen our claws too frequently." She chuckled. "Don't know, he could be right."

"That would make sense then." Starpaw nodded, and then grinned at Hiddenpaw's next statement. "Haha, that has to be some pretty deep claw marks then! But, I wouldn't think it'd be too far off with some of the warriors I've seen in your territory. Phoaw! Pretty tough warriors. So.. which one is your mentor?"

Hiddenpaw shook her head. "Haven't got one. Not yet at least. Treestar's been really busy, not really thinking about mentors. Doesn't really matter, Forestfur takes me out sometimes with Songpaw." She dashed quickly past a secluded clearing that had a brand new tree across it. She took a moment to stare at it before taking off again. "Willow tree, common enough to see one of them flat."

Starpaw had to spring to catch up with Hiddenpaw. "Heyyyy, give me a warning that you're going to run next time?" She complained, her natural gift of speed enabling her to catch up without too much of a struggle. "That's a willow tree? It looks really...weepy." She meowed, keeping pace with Hiddenpaw. "We don't have those on Fireclan. What other strange things are here?" her face a was a picture of wonderment...

Hiddenpaw looked quizzical. "Well, I don't know what is strange to you, everything is perfectly normal in my eyes... But we do have this Black Swamp that has been known to suck cats in..." She twitched her tail. "There is a special way you have to splay your paws to be able to walk on it, forget to do that and... well, you better hope someone is there to help you."

Starpaw's jaw dropped. "Really? Woah.....I'm suddenly glad we don't have that at Fireclan. One wrong move and whoop! There you go, if you dare disagree with Foxcloud." She tilted her head. "Though I'm sure she'd rather have her fun first. Oooh, I'd love to see it though." Starpaw was fascinated. "You can actually walk on it? Wow...."

Hiddenpaw murmured agreement. She wouldn't put it past Foxcloud to push someone in if she found out about the Black Swamp. "Course you can walk on it! We wouldn't keep it otherwise! But if you slip, you can't right yourself easily. It's good to go there with lots of backup."
