OOC: This thread is for when Cedarpaw and Emberpaw meet. Well not really meet, but start to get to know each other better. Even though this thread is going to be Cedarpaw, Emberpaw, and probaly Hollypaw centric, anyone is still welcomed to join! ;D IC: EMBERPAW Emberpaw padded into camp with a water vole and mouse in her jaws, with a bounce in her step and her tail waving enthustiastically in the air. Even though she looked like a kit trotting into camp after their first outing, no cat could miss the gracefulness which she moved with. Emberpaw padded towards the fresh-kill pile to drop off her load of prey. Taking a nice, plump fish for herself, Emberpaw glanced around the clearing to find a spot to eat at. |

"Hey Emberpaw!" A cheerful voice called out from behind the ginger she cat. "Just come back from hunting?" A glossy black she cat with warm brown eyes padded over, a smile on her face. "Looks like you had some good hunting. Hopefully Crowpaw didn't scare away all the prey!"
"Hey!" A wispy grey furred tom retorted, giving Hollypaw a glare. "What does that mean, that I'm loud?"
"Oh no, far from it." Hollypaw said innocently, giving him a sweet look until he grumbled, dropped his own catch in the pile and padded away. "She cats..."

EMBERPAW Emberpaw dropped her fish and let out a warm purr towards her best friend. Hi Hollypaw! Yeah, I did just come back from hunting. The pray don't seem afraid to come out of their burrows today! And no, Crowpaw didn't scare all the prey away. But by the time she said the last part, Crowpaw was already padding away. Emberpaw couldn't stop her ears from twichting with amusement when the tom muttered under his breath. She turned back towards her friend. Do you want to eat with me? |

"Mm, I'd love to," Hollypaw meowed, looking longingly at the freshkill pile. "But I have to go train with Cedarpaw, and I've already kept him waiting...Hey, when you finish eating would you like to come? Wolfstorm suggested we just do some random training to keep in shape, until our mentors can start training up again. They're pretty busy these days. Messed up alliance and all. So what do you think?" The black she cat waved her tail, giving Emberpaw a smile.

EMBERPAW Emberpaw gave a little bounce of excitement. Actually, I can come right now! I'll eat when we get back. I'm not that hungry anyway. She then started nervously fidgeting with her paws, and her ears flattened against her head. Are you sure Cedarpaw won't mind having me join you? You know how some of the other apprentices are with me sometimes, and I've never really spoke to Cedarpaw before....... |

"Pffft." Hollypaw waved her tail nonchalantly. "He won't mind. We're not like most apprentices in that respect. They're just a bunch of furballs, just ignore them. I'm sure Cedarpaw would love to get to know you. He's pretty fun that way. C'mon then, I'll take you there!" Hollypaw darted out of the camp entrance, her brown eyes shining as she took off. Her paws carried her swiftly through the tunnel of an entrance, and she shot out into the green of the forest. Hollypaw unconciously avoided twigs and crackly leaves, a habit from plenty of training sessions. Above, the sun shone gently, it's warm yellow rays hitting the emerald leaves on the trees. It was a beautiful day, and perfect for training. She glanced over her shoulder, looking for Emberpaw..

EMBERPAW Emberpaw's tail shot straight up into the air at her friends reply. But before she could say another word, Hollypaw darted out of the camp entrance and into the forest. Emberpaw shot off after her, only a few rabbit-lengths away from Hollypaw. Even though Hollypaw was bigger than her, Emberpaw was easily catching up, she ran smoothly and gracefully through the trees, using muscles that she earned from moons of training. The sun warmed her pelt, making it shine and giving out the reason she earned her name. |

"Beautiful day, isn't it?" Hollypaw purred, turning her head to look at the apprentice running beside her. "Oh look! There's Cedarpaw!" Hollypaw slowed down, her run turning to a slow walk. A tom, his silvery pelt fading to white at his belly and muzzle, was staring up a tree, a frustrated look in his eyes.
"Drat! I nearly caught it! Stupid squirrel..."
Hollypaw cleared her throat and the tom turned around. "Oh, Hollypaw, I wondered what was taking you so long! And... you're Emberpaw, right?" He meowed, remembering her name from her apprentice ceremony. He couldn't help but notice how gracefully she moved.
(hmmm which one should fall in love first?)

OOC: If it's okay with you, I think it should be Cedarpaw first. Even if Hollypaw insists that her and Cedarpaw are different from the other apprentices, she's still going to have trust issues. But don't worry, Emberpaw won't be too far behind for falling. IC: EMBERPAW Emberpaw purred back towards her friend. Yeah, it's a really beautiful day. Then she noticed a light gray tom. It was Cedarpaw. Emberpaw saw him around every once in a while, but this would be the first time that she actually spent any amount of time with him. She noticed how his coat had a nice sheen to it, and how his mucles rippled smoothly when he turned towards them. She gave a curt nod in reply to his question. Yeah, it's Emberpaw. She looked towards the tree that he seemed to be so interested in before her and Hollypaw came. Were you chasing something? Emberpaw tilted her head as she asked the question. |

Emberpaw's question jolted him out of his reverie, his musing over how..beautiful Emberpaw was. He nodded. "Yeah, a squirrel. It was over there," he flicked his tail towards a bush, "But then it darted when it heard Hollypaw." He grinned goodnaturedly. "But its all good, Hollypaw will just have to catch me a new squirrel, or better yet, battle it out. Do you want to do some battle training with us, Emberpaw?"

EMBERPAW Emberpaw started waving her tell enthustiastically while bouncing in place. Hollypaw was right, Cedarpaw didn't seem to mind having her around. I would love to! Who's going against who first? Emberpaw started kneading her paws impaitently in the ground, waiting to see what they were going to say. |

"I think that you two should start first." Hollypaw interrupted. "You two have never fought each other before, it'd be a good way to renact a battle between two different clans- you don't know the other cat's style. So, what do you think? It'll give you a chance to do some thinking on your feet! Cedarpaw knows all my moves by heart, so..."
She glanced at the two cats sitting across from her.
"Okay, I think that's a good plan. Emberpaw?" Cedarpaw asked, looking excited...

EMBERPAW Sure! That sounds fine with me! As soon as Emberpaw was done speaking, she stopped bouncing in place and slid fluidly into a fighting position. Her face was completely serious as she stared challengingly at Cedarpaw. |

Cedarpaw admired how quickly she'd been able to focus. He shook his head- he couldn't be thinking about that kind of thing right now! He balanced his weight, putting it evenly on all four paws; the better to move faster. His blue green eyes searched Emberpaw's and he waited for her to make the first move...

EMBERPAW For a hearbeat, Emberpaw was lost in Cedarpaw's handsome eyes as they searched hers, then she quickly broke out of her reverie. What was that?! I've never lost focus in a training session before! She quickly pushed away her thoughts, filing them away in her mind for later on. Emberpaw assesed Cedarpaw's fighting stance quickly. Looks like I'll have to try and unbalance him. She dashed forward, her eyes focusing on his ears, hopeing that he thought thats the thing she was aiming for. When she got close enough, she darted out her paws as quick and as fluid as a snake striking it's prey, aiming for his forepaws. |

Cedarpaw started to duck, but then realized what Emberpaw was going to do. He sprang upwards, Emberpaw's paw barely missing his front legs and swishing harmlessly past his back ones. Leaning forward, the silver tom used his momentum to carry him over, behind Emberpaw. Twirling around, he shouldered her, trying to unbalance her!
Hollypaw merely watched, nodded as Cedarpaw avoided Emberpaw's strike. What would Emberpaw do now? She'd put all her weight on one side to lash out at Cedarpaw, and now he was beside her, and shoving her to one side..
(lol don't worry she'll hit him! ^^)

EMBERPAW Emberpaw knew that she wasn't going to be able to get her balance back, so she took the blow to stride. As soon as she dropped to the ground, she slid under Cedarpaw with her belly facing upward. Her mentor always told her to use her size to her advantage, and she was doing just that. Emberpaw knew how dangerous it was to expose her belly like she was now, but what was life without a little risk? Moving quickly, Emberpaw kicked her hindpaws upward aiming for Cedarpaw's belly. She put just enough strength behind the blow to hopefully send him a few foxlengths away from her. |

"Yeah Emberpaw!" Hollypaw called out, grinning from ear to ear as Cedarpaw flew more than just a few foxlengths backwards....
Cedarpaw let out an "ooph!" as Emberpaw's paws connected with his stomach, knocking the breath out of him and sending him flying backwards. He landed with a grunt on the ground, dirt, leaves, and twigs, flying into the air. He shook his head, a little dizzy, and got to his paws, ready to continue the fight. He darted away, into the bushes......
(lol don't worry ,he hasn't left ^^)

EMBERPAW Emberpaw could hear Hollypaw cheering for her, but she couldn't focus on that right now. She scrambled quickly to her paws, staring dumbfounded after Cedarpaw. What is he up to? Emberpaw pricked her ears towards the bushes, while slightly opening her mouth to see if she would pick up any scents. Her tail twitched uneasily as she tried to anticipate Cedarpaw's next move. |

Cedarpaw grinned as he crept through the forest, trying to confuse Emberpaw. First, he rolled a particularly strong smelling forest plant, thus effectivly disguising his scent...Then, he threw an acorn, so that it rustled a good distance far from where he was. He waited for her reaction, noticing her unease at his manuver. He grinned again, wondering if he'd be able to surprise her...
Hollypaw knew what Cedarpaw was doing- he'd done it enough on her for her to know he would spring out when Emberpaw least expected it. But first he'd do some diversions...
