Warrior Ceremony

OOC: Hey guys. Sorry that I've been away. Thanks for everybody who's missed me. Now, let's get on with the ceremony. Btw, if I missed something for the big day, please post it. Thanks.

IC: Mossheart emerged from her den suddenly filled with joy. Another day had shone her with the sun's rays and Lightningclan was once again in peace. Prey was more scarce from the last season; considering how the winter brought tons of grief to the clan. Now, it seemed that every cat in Lightningclan was back in their own world of happiness. Mood swings really did change with the weather and once again, Mossheart thanked Starclan for a beautiful season filled with prey.

She sighed and drew in the freshness of the morning air. The day she had always been waiting for was now in perfect timing. It was now time, the ceremony for a new warrior in LightningClan. Leaping on the ledge, she yowled, "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather here for a meeting.”

Glosspaw's ears twitched at the call, and she raised her head from dropping a small mouse onto the fresh-kill pile to look toward Mossheart. With an excited, but quiet, meow, the apprentice padded across the camp after her Clanmates. The new-leaf sun warmed her pelt, and lent a warm, burnished glow to its silver as she took a seat. The young cat was still a bit lean from winter, but she had grown none-the-less, and was turning into quite the pretty she-cat.

Purring happily, and with her blue eyes shining with the glow of perpetual kitten excitement that always seemed to follow her, Glosspaw gazed up at LightningClan's leader, ready for some good news for a change.

Watching from the apprentice entrance, the tom waited until Glosspaw had reached the Lightningclan leader before he to padded across the clearing. His tall gangly form moving silently forward.

There had not been a clan meeting in some time, it would be interesting to hear what was to be said. Sinking back on his haunches he twisted around running his tongue over the old wounds from the rat attack.

Freedom.

Soon that would be his. But no yet, he wasn't to bask in the attitude one got only from having others around. But just for now.

Sunstorm slowly padded to the clearing, secretly scanning the camp for signs of Usai. Would she come to a clan meeting? He wasn't sure- she wasn't a clanner, but Kiru would probably- and where Kiru went, Usai did also. He ducked his head in embarrassment as he realized he was starting to day dream..He shook his head and padded faster, and came to a stop next to Glosspaw, a bright and eager apprentice..

Fuzepaw padded out of the apprentice den. He padded forward, and sat towards the back. Not really caring what the ceremony was for. He was still angry that he was still an apprentice. While everyone else moves on, im stuck. He kept his fur flat and his tail from lashing as best as he could.

IC: Lightpaw's ears perked at the sound of her leader's voice. She was oversleeping, again! She jumped up from the apprentice den and hurried outside without grooming her shining golden and white pelt.

It's been moons since she's been an apprentice, and a lot has been going on in her world. But despite that, she still seemed to be her kit-like self, still as energetic and irresponsible as usual. Her brightness seemed to have always rubbed off on the cats around her. She never imagined not living the way she's living now. (ooo foreshadowing darkness to come?)

"Glosspaw!" Lightpaw meowed loudly to her friend and bounced over to her. Yes, even though she's grown and was almost like a full grown warrior, her fur now beautifully full and fluffy, her body slim and lean from training, she still had the personality of a kitten and the shine of innocence in her bright golden eyes.

She got hushed by several cats on her way to her best friend, Glosspaw, but she didn't really care. She giggled and sat down beside her.

Then she noticed Scarpaw. Still alone, still looking grim, just like he was like since they were all kits. Scarpaw, the cat that she still saw differently.

Glosspaw purred a greeting at Sunstorm, giggling at the faraway look in the older cat's eyes. Was he looking for that new she-cat he'd been hanging around lately?

Grinning at the sound of a familiar voice, Glosspaw's purr only deepened when she looked up to see Lightpaw bounding toward her. Between training and hunting, the pretty silver she-cat hadn't seen her friend in a while, and was a bit surprised at how much she'd grown.

"You're taller than me." Glosspaw growled playfully, loud enough for only Lightpaw to hear--rambunctious though she may be, the apprentice didn't want to make Mossheart mad... Again. "And you've got moss in your fur. You forgot to groom it again, didn't you?"

Blond ears twitching, the tall apprentice glanced at the she-cats, Glosspaw and Lightpaw, from the corner of his eyes. He caught Lightpaws gaze and stared for a moment before he returned his gaze back to the Lightningclan leader.

He didn't bother to sit next to them, they would probably distract him anyways. but he couldn't stop his gaze from traveling back to the two she-cats he tried his hardest not to call friends.

Seeing that a majority of Lightningclan cats had assembled in the clearing, Mossheart motioned her tail eagerly at all the cat's excitement. Everybody was hyperly active today and she couldn't blame them. It had been moons since an assembly had been called and today was a day that was worth celebrating for. Mossheart cleared her throat and silence filled the air. Finally. "Cats of LightningClan, I hearby stand today to announce a warrior ceremony worth celebrating for. This apprentice who has worked hard has achieved his rank as a warrior. Fuzepaw, please step forward and let us honor your dedication towards the clan."

Sunstorm meowed, nodding his head- Fuzepaw, an apprentice for so long, was becoming a warrior in his own right! He purred, pleased. The apprentice deserved this ceremony- he'd been training for a long time, and had worked hard, though he'd often been moody, but Sunstorm could understand that. Being blind wasn't easy, nor was having your only sister in another clan. He looked expectantly up at Mossheart, wondering what name she'd give the apprentice. He snuck another look around for Usai, but was disappointed; no sign of her yet...

Fuzepaws eyes slightly opened in shock. He was surprised that the time had finally come. Stand up, he headed towards the ledge. He made sure not to bump into any cats. Still, no one really knew he was blind. He then stood there, looking "up" at her.

Drawn from throwing teasing faces at Scarpaw, Glosspaw's eyes grew round as silver moons. She stared in awe at Fuzepaw, the tiny slivers of buff fur outlining and exaggerating her expression. Fuzepaw had been made an apprentice before she had; it was certainly time for him to become a warrior, and Glosspaw's excited grin was big enough to crinkle her ears.

Lightpaw finally took her teasing stare off of Scarpaw, a little hurt that he didn't come join her and Glosspaw. She laughed at Glosspaw's comment and just started licking the moss of her shoulder when Mossheart called Fuzepaw forwards. She couldn't help but feel a jolt of energy, AGAIN, thinking that soon she would be just like him, going up there to receive her warrior name.

Her mind was going through a tangle of thoughts about what her warrior name would be, when she realized that Fuzepaw's actions were a little off. He seemed so careful as if he needed to feel his way around the cats. She thingyed her head in confusion, then shook it off. Probably just imagining things.

[Tigerfur]

TIGERFUR

Tigefur dashed through the entrance and into the camp. Her nostrils were flaring as she tried to get as much air into her laungs as possible. Tigefur had heard the summoning of the Clan when she was a little far from the camp. She trotted quickly to the fresh-kill pile to deposit her prey, then took a seat next to Sunstorm. She gave him a nod of greeting, but had no idea if he noticed, considering he seemed a little distracted. Every few seconds his eyes would glance around the camp. Tigerfur guessed that he was looking for that one she-cat that he seemed to spend all of his time with lately. Tigerfur tunrned her gaze to the front to see Fuzepaw standing in front of the ledge. From the looks of things, he was about to be made a warrior. Thats good. He's been training for so long, he really deserves it. Tigerfur flicked her tail uneasily at the next thoughts that came to mind. Besides, we need new warriors more now than ever at the moment.

Seeing that Fuzepaw had slowly made his way towards the ledge, Mossheart could feel a line of adraline pumping in her. She was excited for Fuzepaw, seeing that he had grown quickly; both physically and emotionally. She had watched the apprentice with his training and this time, he really had deserved this ceremony. Facing Fuzepaw, she announced, "I, leader of LightningClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. He has trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend him to you as a warrior in his return. Fuzepaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend this clan, even at the cost of your life?"

IC: Lightpaw felt like she wanted to jump up and down for Fuzepaw as her leader spoke those words. By now, she seemed to know the ceremony by heart, and wished for the day that it would be meant for her. It was hard to restrain herself but she managed, the excitement in her eyes made it seem like SHE was the one becoming a warrior!

Sunstorm suddenly noticed Tigerfur- when had she come in?? Well, he had to admit that he hadn't been paying that much attention to his surroundings and he grimaced in embarrassment. "Hi Tigerfur," He whispered, forcing himself to look up at Mossheart and not around the clearing once more. "Were you out in the territory? You're breathing pretty hard."

TIGERFUR

Tigerfur broke out of her uneasy thoughts when Sunstorm finally returned her greeting, along with asking her a question. Yeah, I was out hunting until I heard Mossheart's call. Tigerfur glanced around the cats, trying to see if she could spot her mate. But unfortunately, she didn't see him. She turned back towards Sunstorm. Have you seen Swiftface?

Sunstorm shook his head, looking apologetic. "No, I haven't seen Swiftface lately.... If I see him though ,I'll tell him you're looking for him, okay? He should be here, unless he was out hunting at the call, like you, but hasn't heard it." He meowed..
