Foxcloud briefly ignored Bristlefur, as soon as this...'Byakko' emerged. Though the deputy took the glare and sudden appearance calmy, the instant the she-cat began to talk, Foxcloud snarled. "Burningstar!" the fox-red she-cat hissed, reluctantly the possible answer to the leader's question short. Foxcloud even dared to only place a paw protectivly infront of the Fireclan leader.
Foxcloud did not enjoy standing too closely to Burningstar. Not only did she fear that it was disrespectful, but also she had always been jealous of the tom. His tabby fur was such a vivid red! So beautifully shaded like fierce fire! While hers was dark. Dull. The red of the less beautiful fox. Foxcloud never truely cared about her looks, but...
"The way she talks! How can we trust you are not of the Tribe of Dark Deaths?" Foxcloud finished, her tail lashing from either side. The Fireclan deputy was almost sure Byakko wasn't of the Tribe. She had seen her a few times before, hanging around the High Hills Band. But, it was better to be safe then sorry. Foxcloud had learned plenty about the tribe from Brightstream, and the she-cat before her now didn't fit that bill.

Starpaw's eyes narrowed to slits as the deputy's words rang in her ears. How ironic. The backstabber and traitor herself, accusing another of being untrustworthy? She even dared to pretend that she cared for her leader, when...Starpaw gritted her teeth, her body protectively in front of Smallkit's.

Smallkit's ears perked up, Tribe? she asked curiously. She darted under Starpaw's belly, up to Foxcloud and Byakko, I wanna hear! Smallkit said happily.

She tilted her head slightly in confusion, what was this cat talking about? Old Ones? She shook her head, her eyes just as cold as before as she glared at Byakko.

Redwing stared at the strange cat, pelt bristling and eyes clouded. He was trying to mask his confusion--what was this she-cat going on about? Old Ones? Did she mean StarClan?
Then a kit bounded from Starpaw, and the ginger and white tom tensed. SkyClan's scent was all over her, but that wasn't what bothered him. Foxcloud was so close...

Starpaw gasped. What was Smallkit thinking??? The snowy apprentice darted forward, and tried to drag smallkit out of Foxcloud's reach. Her heart was pounding as she did so- Thank goodness they were in the presence of Burningstar and other clan cats...perhaps foxcloud wouldn't reach as much as she would if it were just her, Smallkit and Starpaw....The apprentice shivered slightly, though it was quite warm out, and there wasn't even a trace of a breeze...
