Smallkit scurried away, rubbing against alot of leaves, and falling on purpose. She went into multiple directions and swirls trying to move fastly and make as much sound as possible. On the sixth second, she quickly went behind one of the tree's roots. Smallkit tried to keep her breathing low, especially after falling so many times.

STarpaw, eyes still closed, raised an eyebrow. Smallkit was making such a racket- even falling from the sound of it. She hid a chuckle. "...Ten! Ready or not, here I come!" she crowed, her eyes flashing open. She looked around the clearing- leaves were strewn about and pawsteps dotted the mud in a chaotic fashion. Starpaw glanced about- Smallkit was smarter than she'd thought! She shouldn't have been surprised, but it seemed like it was done on purpose... She grinned. A challenge!

Smallkit winced when Starpaw called out ten. She tiptoed to the other side of the tree, trying to keep hidden, Keep going around. she thought happily and scared at the same time.

(haha, I know that feeling that smallkit's feeling- exited but nervous about being found XD)

Starpaw heard a soft crunching sound and twisted her head towards the source of the noise- but...nothing was there, except a gently floating leaf.. Starpaw padded noiselessly towards the spot... She pounced! and landed on a pile of leaves. She grunted in dispointment. She went back on the lookout..

IC: Bright yellow eyes flashed from behind the hiding Smallkit. The looming figure casting its dark shadow over the small tabby kitten. Her deadly silent steps stalking forth, body lowered like a predator hunting its prey. The fox-red she-cat let a snarling smile twist across her muzzle. This was all just too easy! The kit smelled of Skyclan, and her filthy paws were touching Fireclan territory! Such a thing made Foxcloud's stomach twist with anger and disgust.

The only justice for such a thing could only be death in the deputy's eyes. Or, if she felt kind enough, at the least an unuseable limb...

Smallkit blinked, something seemed off. She sniffed the air, only getting the smell of folliage, Huh. she thought, pushing it aside. All she was focused on was hiding away from Starpaw. Smallkit crept around the tree trunk, trying to find where Starpaw was, maybe making an escape behind Burningstar.

Starpaw smelt, rather than saw or heard, Foxcloud, and that was a lucky break. The apprentice's bi-colored eyes widened in shock, which quickly turned to fear. "Smallkit, smallkit come here right now!" She yowled fearfully. She darted faster, looking around for the tiny kit. Finally, she spotted Smallkit, and a wave of relief crashed over her.."Smallkit, I found you, now come here quick! please??"

Foxcloud stalked silently, following Smallkit's movements around the tree. The deputy's distant position was far enough in a deep patch of weeds and strong smelling plants, that it seemed the earth had grown it there just for her situation. The conditions were perfect. One powerful leap, a small stride or two, and that small tabby form would be under her paws. Ready to be torn apart by her fangs. So perfect! It was all so perfect! The fox-red she-cat crouched to the floor, tail twitching with glee.

"Smallkit, I found you, now come here quick! please??"

Anger flashed across her sharp yellow eyes. Starpaw? NO! Frustration at the sudden sight of the Fireclan apprentice came to view. Foxcloud snarled in disgust, as the apprentice talked with the filthy Skyclan kit. Had they been...playing? The deputy almost vomited at the thought. Starpaw would be punished for this!

crouching once more, the she-cat prepared to attack the small kit before her. If Starpaw saw or not. Who would believe a stupid apprentice that could be saying anything to make up for the fact she was playing with an intruder?

Starpaw raced over to the tiny kit. "Smallkit!" Her eyes were wide with fear. "C'mon, how about we go back to where Burningstar is? He looks like he's lonely, what do you say?" she meowed, her eyes scanning everywhere. She could not see the crazed, bloodthirsty deputy, but she could sense it... Foxcloud's presence.. The white apprentice shuddered. She put on a smile for Smallkit's sake. "Wanna help me pounce on Burningstar?" she fervently hoped he was still there, and hadn't left...

Smallkit looked confused, almost tripping over her small grey paws as Starpaw came right next to her talking fastly, O-Okay? she said slightly confused, hobbling over to Burningstar, I thought we were playing Hide and Seek... Smallkit thought, her eyes narrow.

Starpaw's relief was evident as Smallkit accepted her offer, but the danger was still out there, and the fear still coursed through her veins like a fire ripping through her.. "Thanks! This will be more fun than Hide and seek anyway." she meowed, faking cheerfulness. She looked over her shoulder and saw nothing. A shiver ran down her spine, and she couldn't shake the feeling that told her Foxcloud was there...somewhere... waiting to devour them.. She hurried Smallkit back to where Burningstar had been...

(will he be there? or *gasp* will he have left and will they be left in Foxcloud's clutches???)

Foxcloud's sharp eyes flashed in the night of the weeds. Possibly the only clear sign of her position. A small one, but still a sign. The deputy purred breifly as she planned her moves out. Then, once Starpaw had turned, like a silent explosion, the she-cat tore out of her hiding place. Charging for the clumsy Smallkit first. Foxcloud's expression was blank as her clawed paws pounded the earth and tore up bits of grass with the speed of her small sprint.

IC: Burningstar was enjoying himself in the sun when he suddenly smelled the fear scent coming off in waves from where Starpaw and Smallkit disappeared to. What was out there? A badger? The FireClan leader got up in a flash and dashed towards the sound of pounding paws...

In a heartbeat the dark ginger leader saw Starpaw and Smallkit dash behind him. What scared them so much? But the only other scent in the air was of Fireclan. His eyes dashed back and forth, searching for the source. Then he saw the flash of red fur...

Starpaw, her breath coming in gasps, was infinitely glad that Burningstar was there. But then... would even he be able to stop Foxcloud? She was in one of her bloodthirsty rages, that Starpaw was sure of....She shivered, and pulled Smallkit closer behind Burningstar...

IC: Blood roared in the she-cat's ears as the form of her leader suddenly broke through the vision of her thirsty charge. The forest swirled once, becoming clear once more. Claws hissed in protest at their forced retraction without the pleasure of inflicting damage. Her sudden surprise halt brought her before the Fireclan tom. Surprise and frustration pricked her sharp yellow eyes as her gaze flicked about Burningstar. Glancing to the apprentice and kit for only a brief moment.

As the Fireclan deputy righter herself, she quickly set to work plotting her words. Cursing within of how easily she let her guard down. Everything had been TOO perfect. The tickle of grass benefit her paws seemed to mock her at this.

After a brief, relieved chuckle, the Fireclan deputy glanced up to Burningstar. Her face light and somewhat playful. She looked a few moons younger when she gave her smile. Surprising enough, it seemed Foxcloud had a face made to smile. "My, Burningstar! I'm quite glad its you!" the deputy licked her paw a few times, trying to clear the occasional grass strand from between her toes. "Could have sworn there was a fox and her kits from what I could hear! Didn't help with those smelly weeds. Thought they could hide my scent, when they actually masked who I was about to find on the other side." Such a lie that seemed understandable maybe even to those she attacked. A possible reason. Those weeds did smell, and were thick enough. Maybe it was really all just a misunderstanding?

While Burningstar was possibly either commenting or pondering this, the fox-red she-cat's gaze slowly lowered to the younger cats behind the leader. Though her face stayed with the leader, the sharp yellow orbs focused dangerously on them. Pupils narrowing to points the longer she watched them. Her gaze seemed to snarl at them for their luck, and showed her promise that none of what she saw would not go unpunished.

once Burningstar responded, Foxcloud's eyes snapped back to his. Once more to be light and playful.

Smallkit stared up at the new she-cat curiously. Unknown to her, that she could have met death at any time. Smallkit looked up at Starpaw, Who is she? she whispered; not really noticing the glare. And what fox? Smallkit added, trying to make sure only Starpaw heard.

Starpaw shrank from Foxcloud's glare, feeling as if the deputy's gaze was burning her. "There were no foxes," she whispered to Smallkit, shivering. "Foxcloud's doing what she does best....lying..Smallkit, stay away from her...I think you should go back to skyclan- it's not safe here.." The white apprentice's eyes were fixed on Foxcloud the whole time, and a chill ran up her spine once more at Foxcloud's seeming light and happy manner as Burningstar spoke...She couldn't shake the feeling that her life was in danger, as was Smallkit's, hence her desperation to get her back to her own clan, to safety...
