Band Meeting (all must attend)

Courage let out a meow of greeting to the small rogue. "Maple! I haven't seen you in so long! How have you been?" he purred, swiping his paw across his whiskers briefly to clean them.

Burning looked excited. He'd not seen many of these cats for several moons, it was good to see them all again... He wondered what had driven them apart- but it was clear they still considered themselves to be part of the High Hills Band- why else would they have answered Sunset's call, and so quickly too?

Byakko had summited the hill leading to the camp while listening to Sunset's speech. With a lowered head, she joined the Band. "Sunset, although I do consider myself a part of your Band, I cannot join you in this battle."

Courage turned in shock at Byakko's words. He'd never thought Byakko would not join them in the fight... He just stared, confused...

Burning squeaked in surprise. "What? Why not?" he meowed, forgetting Byakko had addressed Sunset, not him. (XD)

Skywalker felt his ears and tail drop slightly at Byakko's words. The tribe cat had somewhat expected this from the peaceful she-cat. He couldnt picture her teeth bared and claws out in the heat of battle. "I understand, Byakko." the jet black tom purred with a somewhat sad tone.

"I'm sorry if I disappoint you, but its not that I can't fight," With a twinkle of amusement in her eyes, Byakko looked at Skywalker, "I just wish to resume my own purpose here. You may think my actions are selfish, but this is my destiny. Once my mission is completed, may I be admitted into your Band once more Sunset?"

Sunset looked surprised. Of course Byakko! I never turn someone away! Unless of course that someone is Foxcloud or someone else that could never be trusted... But she would never come to me, she is not so stupid and wouldn't stood that low. Sunset snorted. Only she would consider it low. Sunset loved the freedom of the hills, she loved being her own master, she loved helping other cats, and she loved being their leader, though she would never force them to do something they did not wish to do. She was free, and they were free. It was her way of life, and though she knew that she could have been raised in the Clans, she did not think she would have been happy. THIS was her home, full of sun during the day, blanketed by stars at night. Home... where the heart is. She glanced at Skywalker. Yes, where the heart is.

Maple blinked, watching everyone. Her eyes closed, You have some kind of plan, yes? she asked carefully to Sunset. Everything must be changing where these clans live, so any plan you think might work might not in the end.

"Thank you Sunset, and... Tell your brother to be careful of the one with eyes of copper. The Old Ones have mixed feelings about her." With that, Byakko turned away, waving a tail in farewell.

Burning's eyes narrowed in confusion. Eyes of copper? what cat had eyes like that? He shrugged; he was sure Sunset or her brother knew about it. He looked up at Sunset, waiting for her reaction...

Courage listened as Maple asked her question and Byakko gave her temporary farewell..

Sunset blinked at Maple. Yes, I have a plan... We will join with Earth and Sky. Perhaps we should go over there, let them learn our scent... We wouldn't want them attacking us. Sunset's tail flicked slightly. I am quite comfortable with traveling to the EarthClan camp, there I am under the protection of my father, and as long as you are with me, you are under his protection as well. But SkyClan... my brother, Thawpelt, is not in such a seat of power. I do know Dawnstar, not well, but I do, yet I would like to go there with just a couple cats first. I will not look for a fight.

"Could I come mom?" Burning meowed, looking excited. "I want to see what the clans look like and see my grandpa!" Burning stood up, and his flame colored fur glinted in the sunlight.

Courage nodded- Sunset had the right idea- to let the clans get used to them. He started at Burning's request. "Hmmm... I wonder who she'll choose to take with her to Skyclan." He murmured to Maple. "probably Skywalker of course, and Bird I would think."

Sunset glanced at Burning. You can come to EarthClan, but I'd prefer to start with older cats to go to SkyClan. She closed her eyes. Skywalker and Courage, she decided. Both cats could keep their head and not break out into a fight at the drop of a mouse. That would have been a mild problem with Bird... she was angry, and had a right to be, but that didn't mean she could take it out on everyone. Bird was one of her dearest friends... but she knew her limitations.

Burning jumped for joy. "Thanks mom!" He was so excited about visiting Earthclan that not being able to see Skyclan didn't phase him. He was grinning from ear to ear..

Courage looked surprised, but nodded. Sunset had chosen him? Courage wondered why, but he didn't much care at the moment- she must trust him to choose him to go. He purred quietly. He'd always thought he'd be the odd one out, especially because of his looks- his extremely long fangs were an oddity. But clearly that didn't matter here! He grinned..

Bird was bummed that she wasn't choosen, but she understood. She'd be too ready for a fight.

Courage stepped forward. "Um, Sunset, when do we leave? Are we to visit Earthclan first and then Skyclan?" He asked, curiousity in the light of his green eyes...

"We leave at moonhigh, so you might want to get some rest. EarthClan will be first, and the entire band will come there. Then Bird will lead those who are not coming to SkyClan back here. Bird, you will be in charge." Sunset looked her friend right in the eyes, hoping that Bird would understand how important the task was... Burning was bound to be a bit of a pawfull. "I, Courage, and Skywalker will go to SkyClan, and then in two days, I will bring the rest of the band there."

Courage nodded. "Moonhigh then." He meowed, dipping his head in acquiescence. Inside he was raring to go, he, like Burning, wished to see the clans. He'd always wondered what made them different from the High Hills band...He'd find out soon enough, that was for sure.


Burning's eyes were shining at the mention of finally going. Then, "aww... moonhigh, that'll be awhile.. I can't sleep! I'm too excited!" He meowed...

Bird nodded. She would defend the band if needed.
