Fernfur gazed upwards.
The grey-blue sky was strewn with streaks of watery cloud that swirled in her eyes, making her feel dizzy. The dizziness made her feel like she was hovering a couple of mouse-lengths above the ground, or like the wind was rushing into her ears.
She couldn't get him out of her head. Every moment, a different image of him flashed through her mind. He was what made her feel dizzy. Not the clouds.
A hundred different expressions on his perfect face blurred through her head, whirling into the dreamy half-vision of her thoughts. She looked down, closing her eyes to try and separate the images, and relish each one individually.
She was going crazy. She knew it.
Crazy for Coalheart.

Coalheart noticed Fernfur staring at the sky and padded over and prodded Fernfurs shoulder gently with his paw, I haven't seen you in a while. he said in somewhat of a greeting. Coalheart didn't want Fernfur to snap into her..anti-self you could say.

Fernfur almost jumped a whole foxlength into the air as she heard the voice. "Coalheart!" she purred, turning towards him and pressing her nose hard into his muzzle. "I was just thinking about you." she blushed as she looked into his eyes. "We should hunt and patrol together more often. I hate being away from you." she told him. "Although too much of you probably isn't healthy. I'll explode." she giggled. "I-I mean..." she faltered, "explode in a good way. Explode with happiness...or something..." she sighed, blushing as she looked down at the earthy ground. "I was getting better at that...you know, talking. I was even playing with glowpaw and Blizzardkit a while ago..."

Coalheart started to laugh, You get too nervous. he said jokingly, And thats good...talking to others that is. he tilted his head curiously, But why an apprentice and a kit? Coalheart asked.

"Um...I don't really know. I guess they just seemed easier to talk to." she tipped her head to one side, puzzled. "I guess...they naturally look up to me for being a warrior. So they...accept me." she smiled. 'Accept me...' Those words tasted good on Fernfur's tongue.

Coalheart smiled, As long as you feel comfortable. he meowed. He didn't want Fernfur feeling unwanted.

Fernfur smiled serenely at Coalheart's words. She pressed herself to his dark-pelted side. "So what have you been up to in the last while?" she asked.

Coalheart had to think. He hadn't been doing anything really...he hadn't seen Fernfur so it made him silent. No motovation to do much, other then catch a miserable mouse and say "Yes. I hunted." Coalheart shook his head, Nothing.

Fernfur smiled, flicking his tail with her own, then twisting aroundit so that their tails were entwined, wound around one another. "You can't have done nothing." she meowed teasinlgy, trying to keep her voice clam, which incidentally was a hard task, as she was quivering with happiness at being so close to Coalheart. She wished that she could make herself so close to him that they became one, and all she would ever be able to see, hear, feel...would be him.
