Painpaw somewhat yelped, but when it seemed like a harmless tackle he just sat there on the ground like he was dead, Great. . . he thought, Get. Off.

Crowpaw grinned. "Should we Cedarpaw? I mean," He nodded looking very proper, "We have squished him."
Cedarpaw laughed. "No way Crowpaw. You need to learn a little fun Painpaw." He meowed, craning his neck down so he could see Painpaw's face. "Hey, maybe Wolfstorm'll let you hang around with us. You look bored, and she looks frustrated."
"Frustrated? Try... exasperated." The silver she cat meowed, giving an amused look to Lakeripple's two sons. "Where's Mistpaw or Birchpaw? I would have thought the whole Lakeripple clan would have descended down upon us."
Cedarpaw shook his head. "I think Mistpaw went training with Hollypaw and Dad. As for Birchpaw, he's practicing some move he wants to learn and he won't let me see it."
"Or me!" Crowpaw piped in, looking a little hurt.
"Ah. So that's why you've decided to take a little leap onto my apprentice. Well, you're welcome to him. Try to teach him how to have fun, okay?" She grinned.

"Okay Wolfstorm!" Crowpaw meowed giving his best look of innocence, though Wolfstorm didn't fall for it.
"C'mon Crowpaw, let's take Painpaw and spy on some cats. Should be fun to see how long it takes them to see they're being followed."
Crowpaw laughed. "Okay! C'mon Painpaw." He got off smiling roguishly at the apprentice. Cedarpaw followed suit. "Hmm... but... who should we spy on?"

"Okay," Cedarpaw meowed, not in the least offended. Crowpaw on the other hand was annoyed.
"Whyever not Painpaw?" He meowed, his eyes narrowed. "We're just trying to get you involved for Starclan's sake."
"Shh, Crowpaw. Maybe we can do something Painpaw wants to do." Cedarpaw meowed, showing a rare wisdom (to ask what others wish do do, but perhaps it's not so smart in this case, because Wolfstorm already tried that.)

Crowpaw hissed. "That's always your story. Why? Don't you care about making friends? It's your own fault you're lonely; You don't care enough to even try to be friendly!" The wispy grey tom hissed, his annoyance growing with every word that came out of Painpaw's mouth. "Don't you like having friends?!"
Cedarpaw said nothing. He couldn't understand why Painpaw didn't at least try, but there could be something behind it. But yelling like Crowpaw wasn't going to do anything. He wasn't sure what to do. Perhaps he should ask Lakeripple, or Eagletalon.. They might have an answer..

Painpaw looked over at the babbling apprentice. Whatever her name was, Do you always feel like hunting? Playing? I sure don't. he said emptily, I don't feel like having time for others. Other's try drag you down to the depths.

Crowpaw exploded. "Others drag you down? What kind of cat are you? You shouldn't be in a clan, you antisocial boring hairball! Don't you care about others? Others don't drag you down, they help you up! Tchah! Trying to talk sense into you is like trying to convince a tree to become a rock!" He spat, glaring balefully at Painpaw. "You don't even give others a chance, to make you laugh, to have fun with, to cry with you or to support you! Hmph!"
Cedarpaw hissed. "Crowpaw's right. I can see why you're so devoid of feeling." He spat, angry. "Cats can suprise you, you know. No wonder your life's so worthless- you've made it that way by caring only for..nothing. That's a sad life when you have nothing to care about." Cedarpaw said frostily. "C'mon Crowpaw. We should just leave Painpaw here to continue his lonely existence. He obviously doesn't want us to be his friends."
(ouch... harsh words.)

Painpaw's eyes were glazed. He used to be fun. He wasn't always antisocial, but no. Everyone left him. He stared at Crowpaw from the corner of his eye, You never know when someone will abandon you. he thought. Painpaw sighed, You have happy lives. he grumbled.

"You could too." Cedarpaw meowed quietly, his anger fading away. He never stayed angry for too long. "Just... try. Open up to other cats. It might hurt at first, but it'll get better. Besides, if you keep whatever hurt you inside, it'll just eat away at you 'til you're suffering." He meowed.

"We're here for you if you ever want to talk to us, or hang out with us. Don't mind Crowpaw, he's just frustrated, as we all are. We hate seeing any cat down."

Cedarpaw smiled. "How about we go exploring? Waterclan is a big place, and there might be something exciting!"
Crowpaw's cross face began to fade, to be replaced with interest..
(hmmm maybe they can find something, like...Angelpaw or....perhaps Painpaw's sister? or some other cat special to him?)
