Darkheart tucked her paws under her chest to keep warm. She was hoping no cat would come here on this somewhat cold day. Her eyes glazed over and she stared up at the sky. "Birdkit . . . im so sorry . . ." she meows softly She dipped her head in respect for her sister. "Please forgive me." She always thought that her sister never forgave her. She still didnt know.

Venompaw picked her way across the pebbles and stones of Sunningstones. The dark gray apprentice was tracking a mouse on her own. She had left Shiningpaw and Blizzardpaw back at camp, arguing about...Venompaw honestly didn't know. She wasn't really listening, and so decided she just needed to hunt alone for a bit. She was pulled from her thoughts by the clattering of the pebbles around her paws. Venompaw uttered a curse under her breath as a flash of brown in the corner of her vision meant that the mouse had just taken cover. She rose up onto her paws and saw Darkheart on the other side. Venompaw was curious. What was the warrior doing here? "Hey!" Venompaw yowled the greeting, not caring if prey scattered. "Why are you here?"

Darkhearts eyes flew open in a flash. She turned her gaze onto Venompaw. *sighs* So much for being alone . . . "Your going to scare prey if you shout so loudly!" she calls back softly "And im here . . . because im here . . ." she meows flatly She turned her gaze forward. "Why are you here?" she shoots back

Venompaw shrugged as she approached the dark-colored she-cat. "Shiningpaw and Blizzardpaw were being mouse-brains, so I decided to...come....hunt..." She trailed off as she sensed the sadness seeping from Darkheart. "Erm..." She mewed uncomfortably, "are you okay? You don't..." She hesitated, padding around Darkheart in a circle to view the she-cat from all sides. "You don't look too good..."

Darkheart lets out a soft sigh. She hated it when cats asked how she was. "Extactic . . ." she meows crossly She didnt care if she looked fine or not. She wasnt. She had killed Birdkit, and it was all her fault. She put her head on her paws sadly. *sighs*

Venompaw narrowed her eyes at the warrior, thoughts spiraling in her mind. She wished Shiningpaw were here. Her sister always had some quirky thing to say that could always make a cat feel better. "Why don't you come back to camp with me?" She asked tentatively. "I'm sure the kits will want someone to play with..."

Venompaw backed up two paces, her eyes flat in surprise. She hadn't meant any harm! "I'm sorry!" She squeaked, bowing her head apologetically. "How about we...um..." She tried to think of something they could do that would cheer Darkheart up. But could think of nothing. She didn't have Shiningpaw's personality, she couldn't cheer anyone up in two rabbit hops. Finally, she had a brilliant idea. This always cheered her up! "Want to hear a story about Blizzardpaw's stupidity?" She questioned, thinking back to the climbing incident that happened a few days ago.

When Venompaw finished, she was purring so hard she could barely get her ending words out. "And then we all separated." On hind sight, the whole thing really was funny.

Venompaw righted herself, a few giggles still bursting through at random times. "Not all of us!" She protested half-heartedly. "Just Shiningpaw and Blizzardpaw!" Her tail twitched slightly as she thought about the words she just said. "...Okay, I take it back." She mewed, shaking her head. "We are all weird. But you were an apprentice too, once." She shot back. "So you're calling yourself weird! So HA!"

A smirk crept onto Darkhearts face. "Was! Key word is was an apprentice. Now, im a warrior. Theres a huge difference!" She shook her head, still fighting back laughter. "And i never said i wasnt weird. You dont know the real me, Venompaw. No one does . . ." A sad look went over Darkhearts face. How i murdered my own sister just because i was curious to leave the camp! Of all nights, why did it have to be the coldest that we went out?!?! *sigh*

Darkheart sighs, realizing that her sadness was showing. She quickly tried to hide it away with a forced smile. "So um . . ." Her mind was drawing blanks on what to say. The image of Birdkit kept popping up instead.
