Fernfur ran all the way back to camp and into the warrior's den. She crouched in the corner. Everything hurt so badly...why couldn't she just die??
It wasn't fair. She didn't know what to do. Coalheart needed her badly, and she needed him just as much, and she really did love him far too much, with his mixed up emotions and most of all his caring and understanding of her...but Sunstorm made her so happy, with his contagious smile and optimism. She couldn't have Coalheart, no matter how much she needed him, if it was going to make Sunstorm unhappy, but Coalheart...needed someone to heal him. And she needed someone to heal her too, and only Coalheart could do that. But then Sunstorm...
She sighed. This was getting her nowhere. She tried to focus on relaxing, on not exploding with the agony of the choise she was having to make.
Sunstorm....would make her happy. He would make her feel free and light and turn her into the cat she wanted to be.
But Coalheart was the cat she loved, the cat she needed to help her get better.
But she couldn't choose one...and leave the other hanging on a thread...she so badly wanted Coalheart...but she couldn't be selfish like that.
She couldn't be selfish.

Coalheart slowly entered the camp the upset expression of Sunstorm imprinted in his mind. He did feel bad for him...
Coalheart looked around for Fernfur but didn't see her around Probably in the warriors den... he thought but didn't go there She probably needs time alone...to think he thought again, But what if she want's to be comforted? a voice challenged back, Coalheart sighed and looked at the warriors den.
He walked over to the opening, Fernfur?

Fernfur's head snapped up. "Coalheart..." Her voice sounded dead, detatched. She forced herself to look at Coalheart, the cat she loved, and it hit her.
It her hard, in the face.
"I'm such a horrible cat..." she whispered, horrorstruck. "I can't even talk to my clanmates without fooling them into chasing after me...without causing them pain..."
She squeezed her eyes shut. She felt like she was losing consciousness...

Coalheart padded over and then sat down next to Fernfur stroking her gently with his tail, You're not causing anybody pain.. he said soothingly, Maybe Sunstorm though.... a voice reminded him, Coalheart sighed..

"I am! I saw Sunstorm's face...and...and..." she sighed, and composed herself. She just didn't know what to do, what to say...she leaned into Coalheart, taking comfort in his scent, the feel of his fur, his warmth..."I know who I want..." she sighed, "But it would be selfish to choose one when I would make the other unhappy." she looked up at Coalheart, her tiny frame pressed into him, her eyes searching his. "Do you need me, Coalheart?" Like I need you... she thought to herself, but she couldn't get the words out.

Coalheart looked at Fernfur, when she was around it made him feel happy again. It made him warm again... Yes..I do need you

"Hmm." she sighed. She still wasn't sure what to do...she didn't want to leave Sunstorm hanging on a thread. "Coalheart...I love you." She looked at him with hard eyes, raw eyes. "I really would like to have you by me...as my mate." she told him. "But I still need to think. So let's wait, okay? Before anything happens...with us. I can't hurt Sunstorm like that. He needs to realise...that he is not meant for me. Or perhaps...it will come to be that your feelings will die down for me, and mine will grow for him...I don't see that happening...but we should give it a while. Let me...think. Let me sort out my feelings." she finished, then tentatively leaned forwards to nuzzle Coalheart tenderly. She breathed in deeply as her muzzle made contact with his shoulder, taking in his scent. It could be the last time she did this...or it could be the first of many gestures.

Coalheart smiled resting his head on her's Okay. Whatever you want. he said gently, Whatever makes you happy.. he finished in his thoughts.

Fernfur relaxed. "Hmm. I'm tired. I'm gonna take a nap." she sighed, and curled up, pressing closer to Coalheart. "And don't you dare move." She drifted off.

OOC-yeah...but then he like, really does love this other cat! And fernfur will love him as a best friend and always go to him for advice...after he makes up with coalheart, of course :-D

(lol! okay! first he'll just pretend to love another cat, but then he'll really fall in love.)
Sunstorm had heard every word and he sighed, but he knew what to do. There was no question that Coalheart and Fernfur were, as much as he disliked to admit it, made for each other. But.... how could he tell her that without being too obvious? He frowned and bit his lip as his mind raced for a suitable excuse...
(he'll come up with the idea in the next post and tell her,k?)

Fernfur was drawn out of her sleeping refuge by a familiar scent. Sunstorm. She sighed and sat up, seeing him just outside the warrior's den.

"Hi Fernfur.." He meowed, feeling a little awkward. "Um... how do I say this? I... I don't really love you like that. I got a little mixed up last night. You see, I was thinking about this she cat that I have a crush on, and well, what I wanted to say to her just slipped out. I came that night to tell you that you and Coalheart should be together, but that I'd always love you as a friend..." He meowed, doing his best to sound convincing, though he didn't feel that way at all. (lol yet) "I'm sorry about that mix up." He laughed quietly.

"Really? That's fantastic!" There were no words to describe how happy Fernfur was. "I...I mean...I hope things go well. I'm sure she'll fall for you in no time! You're a wonderful cat, and whoever she is, she's very, very lucky." Fernfur grinned broadly at Sunstorm. She leaned against Coalheart. Actions like this were becoming automatic...she only wanted to be close to Coalheart and for everyone to be happy, especially him. "Good luck. And you can have all the help you need from me!" she smiled mischeiviously(sp??). "And also...I'm glad that you feel that way about me and Coalheart...we are...meant for one another, I think." she finished. Everything was working out so perfectly!
