No matter what the clan had thought, she was going to represent the Clan as a Clan leader. Although this was not the first time talking to the public, she felt a surge of pride, towards her clan and herself. It was going to be the first time, calling upon a meeting for the mentorship ceremony for her Clan. It would finally be a day, where she could prove the characteristics of a Clan leader, her faith and loyalty would always stand still, protecting her clan at all cost. Without hesitation, Mossheart jumped on the ledge and shouted, “Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather here for a meeting.” Within a heartbeat, many cats, elders, warriors, apprentices and playful kits emerged from their dens, wondering with curiosity what this meeting would be about.

Thunderwing yawned and padded over to High*blank* for the meeting. If he remembered right, Ravenpaw was getting a mentor. He looked up eagerly at Mossheart.

Tangleswirl moved into the clearing. Ravenpaw was getting his mentor. Tangleswirl hoped it would be her. She had never had an apprentice and she greatly wanted one.

"No, but I really hope its me," Tangleswirl purred. She really did hope she would mentor the apprentice.
ooc: well I thought since Tangleswirl and Mossheart were friends, and Tangleswirl's birthday is coming up that it could be a surprise from Mossheart... Maybe....

Mossheart waited patiently for the whole clan to settle down. Seeing that both Tangleswirl and Ravenpaw were already on that ledge, she flicked her tail for silence. In an instant, the whole clan muted and all pairs of eyes were gazed on her. She cleared her throat and started, "Today, I have two news to report. One regarding about the leadership in LightningClan." Before she could carry on, mummurs arose. A outburst of panics and worries approached but she flicked her tail with silence again, and assured to her clanmates. "Nothing to worry about, Goldeneye has been doing well. After the sudden retirement of Snowstar and his fighting with greencough, he has a hard time coping with all this. Apparently, Goldeneye feels that he does not have the full characteristics; in otherwards, the confidence of leading LightningClan. Therefore, he has asked me to take on the role of being leader in LightningClan." Another outburst of protests broke in. She again silenced it with a firm tone, "I know this may sound outrageous to all of you-not being deputy at first, but I will do my best to protect and lead LightningClan with all my will. That's all there is and the decision has been already made." The clan remained silent and they all looked at her with shock and uneasiness. She knew that it would be a difficult suituation for her clanmates to accept. As well, it would be one difficult problem for her, as a upcoming leader to deal with the future glares she would yet recieve. Whatever her clanmates will and would think, it was already too late. No matter what will happen, she had to do her best, confronting with the obstacles. Mossheart sighed with relief, she had finally released all the burdens that had worried her last night.

Ravenpaw had a shocked expression, she knew little as an apprentice, but it was still surprising that the other cat was not going to become leader. She lowered her head in thought for a moment, then realized it was a good decision. Part of her felt an urge to cheer for Mossheart as the clans new leader. She waited still fidgeting for the next announcement.

Once the cats settled down, she started again with her next news, "Next, I would like to appoint a mentorship ceremony. I would like to welcome Ravenpaw as a new apprentice in our clan. The warrior that will mentor Ravenpaw is Tangleswirl. Tangleswirl, you are ready to take on an apprentice. You have shown yourself to be a warrior of loyalty and faith. Do your best to pass on these qualities and skills to Ravenpaw." Mossheart's eyes were gleaming with pride towards the new apprentice as she waited for both Tangleswirl and Ravenpaw to touch noses.

After touching noses with Ravenpaw, Tangleswirl nodded at Mossheart. "Tomorrow we shall go on a tour of t of Lightingclan territory." Tangleswirl settled herself back down incase there was anything else Mossheart wanted to say. [/size][/color] |

Ravenflight felt the excitement at going to explore the clan territory and sat next to her mentor listening just in case there was more for Mossheart to say.

After nodding for their approval, she annouunced to her clan, "That's all I have to report, meeting dismissed." As the cats scattered to where they left off before the announcement, she asked, "Has anybody seen Goldeneye?"
